MSA S-CAP - Fire escape bonnet, escape mask, smoke mask
Certified according to DIN EN 403 (Respiratory protective devices for self-rescue - Filtering devices with bonnet for self-rescue in case of fire), 15 minutes.The S-CAP escape bonnet is an emergency breathing apparatus that protects the wearer against a wide range of harmful substances in the event of a fire.
The filter cleans the inhaled air and retains smoke, toxic and eye-irritating gases such as carbon monoxide, propenal, hydrogen chloride, hydrogen cyanide, sulphur dioxide and others, as well as harmful particles (P2).
Like all filter units, the S-CAP can only be used in environments where there is sufficient oxygen content in the air.
In the event of a fire, the greatest dangers are not heat or flames, but the smoke that is produced.
Particularly dangerous is the deadly carbon monoxide that occurs in most fires. S-CAP filters the smoke and fire gases out of the air you breathe and protects your face and eyes at the same time.
The normal storage time of S-CAP is 4 years. The storage time can be extended by checking with a laboratory balance. The escape bonnet should not be used more than once.

The advantages of the MSA S-CAP
The S-CAP consists of an eye-catching, bright yellow bonnet with a large visor. The bonnet body, inner mask and filter are firmly connected to each other. The revised inner mask guarantees a perfect fit regardless of face shape and head size.
The filter reliably retains all pyrolysis products (including carbon monoxide).
An additional exhalation valve has been built into the bonnet for the best possible breathing comfort.
Of course, all materials used (bonnet, banding and visor) are heat and flame resistant. The refined collar design already exceeds the requirements of the revised European standard EN 403:2004 (requirements for fire escape bonnets).
Putting on the mask requires only a few steps and is illustrated in easy-to-understand pictograms on the packaging; the mask also fits people who wear glasses. The filter is designed for an operating time of 15 minutes (depending on the concentration of pollutants), so that there is sufficient time for escape or rescue from buildings.
Application: Stored in the airtight, aluminised foil bag, an S-CAP with full filter performance is always ready for use in case of danger. After tearing open the foil bag, the S-CAP can be pulled over the head quickly and easily. The inner mask is fixed on the nose and chin and the entire bonnet is secured by means of the strap.
