InstantAlert, a user-activated alarm, notifies others of a potentially dangerous situation
Your advantages with the MSA Altair 4XR multi-gas detector
Outstanding performance and increased safety thanks to real-time display!
The new MSA Altair 4XR multi-gas detector reports events in real time via Bluetooth connectivity. With its proven MSA XCell sensors, the device is one of the fastest multi-gas monitors in the world and, when combined with the MSA Altair Connect app, can text alerts to supervisors, team members or other users. Maintenance, operational support and compliance are quickly and reliably improved, and real-time alarms and event notifications provide a whole new level of safety.
Robust construction ALTAIR is IP 68 rated, waterproof for 60 minutes at a depth of 2 metres. Resistant and easily withstands 25 drops from a height of 1.2 m.
The extra strong rubber housing offers extreme impact and shock resistance and ensures effective dust and splash protection.
Recessed metal screw connections give it a high degree of stability over its entire service life.
REAL TIME:
Bluetooth connection with MSA Alatair Connect App Receives gas readings, alarms and no-motion alerts.
Sends emergency text messages with GPS location to individual receivers or groups of receivers. Configures units remotely without a PC.
RELIABLE:
Expected service life is approx. 5 years. Approved for ATEX Zone 0. Manufacturer's warranty is 4 years. Sensor response time less than 15 seconds. Faster response times mean earlier notification of staff - and ultimately lives saved.
Industry first: additional MotionAlert and InstantAlert alarms improve safety. 24-hour battery life (22 hours with Bluetooth).
Why are bump tests important?
Why is the bump test a matter of safety before the daily use of your portable gas detector?
The bump test of a gas detector warns the user of non-functioning sensors and blocked gas paths, even if the blockage is invisible to the human eye
With MSA's exclusive XCell-Pulse technology, it is now possible to perform a bump test without the addition of test gas
Just one bump test quickly proves whether the gas paths are clear and your sensors are working
The frequency of bump tests is often dictated by national or company regulations. In practice, the safest method has proven to be the bump test before each day of use to check the proper operation of the unit.
Why is it important to adjust your gas meter?
- Adjustment is the setting of the sensor outputs to the known, traceable calibration gas concentration.
- It ensures maximum accuracy of the instrument and should be performed
when high accuracy is desired or when a bump test fails.
- Calibration is important because all sensors on the market are subject to a certain drift over time and possible effects that cannot be directly influenced, such as overheating,
effects that cannot be directly influenced, such as excessive
- Poisoning, physical shocks, extreme changes in the environment, etc.
