5 categories

AVEC filters for guards are divided into 5 categories:
1. particles
2. gas
3. combination of particles and gas (combi-filter)
4. NBC (Nuclear, Biological, Chemical)
5. special filters

These filters often use the principle of filtration, physical and chemical absorption.
Filtration is a process in which solid particles and aerosols are separated from the air by the fine structure of the filter material.
Physisorption (physical adsorption) is a process in which the absorbed substance condenses inside the microporous structure of the activated carbon. Molecules of the entering gas are trapped in the structure of the activated carbon.
Chemisorption (chemical absorption) is a special form of absorption in which, in contrast to physisorption, the substance is bound to the activated carbon by stronger chemical bonds. Through this process, the hazardous substance is chemically changed.

5 categories

AVEC CHEM - protective filters in combination with a full or half mask, a respirator or active filter devices provide reliable protection against a wide range of harmful or highly toxic gases, vapours and / or particles.
The filters are manufactured with standard round thread according to EN 148-1. The filter components are made of hard plastic and the filters are filled with activated carbon in suitable impregnation, which ensures the capture of chemical and highly toxic substances.
The activated carbon is characterised by an extremely large absorption area of up to 130,000 m2 per 100 grams. The impregnation of activated carbon is based on many years of experience and requirements regarding the type of filter, the guarantee of long-term storage and safe protection against substances for which the filter is used.
Particle, gas, combination and NBC filters are equipped with a special hydrophobic P3 class filter element classified as P3D based on dust holding capacity (dolomite dust test). AVEC filters rank among the TOP products in the protective equipment category. Especially in terms of weight, dimensions and high efficiency.
The filter element is made of micro-fibre filter paper. The fibre density acts as a very fine mesh that reliably captures the finest particles, including aerosols, smoke, microorganisms and highly toxic particles.

Lifetime of the filters

The service time of the filters depends on the frequency of use as well as the conditions of use and is subject to the following factors:
- Air consumption of the user (air flow)
- concentration and range of pollutants in the surrounding atmosphere
- Number of dust and aerosol particles
- Relative humidity
- Ambient temperature

Quality parameters

The quality parameters of the filters are determined according to prescribed European standards with species-specific test substances.
The filter resistance for industrial use is measured at 50 %, 70 % and 95 % relative humidity and an air flow of 30 l per minuter:
Class 1 = pollutant concentration up to 1,000 ppm (0.1% by volume).
Class 2 = pollutant concentration up to 5,000 ppm (0.5% by volume)
Class 3 = Pollutant concentration up to 10,000 ppm (1.0 vol.-%)
The filter resistance period is determined according to applicable European standards, NBC filters and special industrial filters in terms of quality, under special conditions according to substance types based on and according to technical specifications of the manufacturers or customers.

Service life of the particle filter

The resistance time of a particle filter depends on the amount of particles in the surrounding atmosphere, their size, the flow velocity and the humidity. If the breathing resistance increases due to the filter clogging of captured particles, the filter must be replaced in any case.

Restrictions on the use of respiratory filters

When using respiratory filters, the ambient oxygen concentration must be 17% and above.
The expected pollutant concentration in the air - with regard to the duration of maximum use - should be:
- 1,000 ppm (0.1% by volume) for filter class 1.
- 5,000 ppm (0.5% by volume) for filter class 2, and
- 10,000 ppm (1 % vol.-%) for filter class 3.
The filters can be used in an ambient temperature of -30 ° C to + 70 ° C. For filter classes A2 and AX, a temperature range of -30 °C to +30 °C is recommended - depending on the type of pollutant.

ATTENTION - ONLY USE THE FILTER ONCE FOR:
- Radioactive substances
- Highly toxic substances
- Low boiling substances
- Tear producing and irritating substances
- Dangerous micro-organisms
- NOx
- Carbon monoxide
Only use filters of the same type, class and air resistance in compressed air equipment and replace them at the same time.
Always use filters with P3 or P3D marking for protection against liquid particles, microorganisms, viruses, smoke, etc....
FILTERS CANNOT BE REGENERATED, CLEANED OR FLUSHED WITH WATER OR COMPRESSED AIR!!!

REACTOR P3 R

This filter is designed to protect against mercury vapours, radioactive iodine, organic compounds of iodine (iodomethane, 129, 131) radioactive particles. The filter is also available in variant HG-REACTOR P3.
